23 August 2019

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, St Augustine’s Primary School, Keilor, presented an art show ‘Down Memory Lane’.

From abstract art and impressionist paintings to interactive art, the show allowed the students to experience the joy of creating their own art pieces and have them displayed for all to view and appreciate. Over 170 families, friends and VIP guests made their way down the lanes where there was something new and exciting to view and discuss. The school hall was transformed into a living gallery with artwork from all the students as well as pop-up performances by the students.

‘It never ceases to amaze me the wonderfully talented and creative students we have at St Augustine’s’, said Principal Cathy Steere. A highlight of the evening was the revealing of the school commemorative mural where all families and staff members contributed a family picture. This mural celebrates the 2019 families as the school celebrates its 40-year anniversary. The mural will be permanently mounted in the foyer outside the library.

The 40-year celebrations continue next Tuesday as the school celebrates St Augustine’s feast day with a Mass, followed by a photo journey and morning tea.
