The dignity and value of students is at the heart of everything we do. Our vision is for a Catholic education that has an impact beyond the school gate because it motivates and equips students to act effectively in the world. We educate our students to have a positive impact on the world around them beyond their time at our schools.

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS) is responsible for the governance and operation of approximately 300 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne. We employ over 16,000 teaching and non-teaching staff, who serve more than 112,000 students.

Our system has a rich history of dialogue and collaboration with state and federal government departments and authorities. We play an important role in shaping and supporting national Catholic education priorities and policies.

Genuine partnerships with parents, parishes, religious institutes and the community actively support Catholic schools in educating students. We are committed to supporting schools to offer rich, deep and varied learning experiences to our students that support the development of the whole child.

We aim to assist schools to build teaching and leadership capabilities in communities of professionals who increasingly share system responsibility for school improvement and for achieving the best outcomes for our students.

The student is our first concern and our priority. We are committed to ensuring that we offer schools the most effective support to enable all students in Catholic schools to be engaged and creative learners who value excellence and effort, who see the importance of faith, and who have the knowledge, skills, hope and commitment to contribute to peace, justice and the flourishing of the human community.

The world in 2030

Primary and secondary students from our schools share their hopes and dreams about the world in 2030.

A message from Archbishop Peter
Each student is important, each is wonderful ... because each is made in the image and likeness of God. In their hopes and their challenges, their imperfections and their gifts ... every child is a blessing, to be nurtured, supported and encouraged.’ Archbishop Peter A Comensoli

MACS 2030: Forming Lives to Enrich the World builds on the solid foundations established through the Working together in mission: Charter for parishes and schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne which clearly articulates our Statement of Mission.
