History:

Nazareth is a Catholic primary school situated in the suburb of Grovedale, Geelong. The school was built in 1979 alongside Nazareth Parish Church. Nazareth endeavours to be the first choice for families in the Grovedale region seeking a Catholic education. The school has undergone three major refurbishments over its 41-year history.

Description:

Nazareth has 345 students with fifteen classroom teachers, co-Deputy principal (Learning Diversity and Learning & Teaching), a librarian, and specialist Italian, visual arts and STEM teachers.

The school is situated on five acres. It incorporates an oval, an adventure playground, nature play and asphalt areas to support and encourage a variety of physical education activities and games.

The school is well serviced with both excellent off-road parking and a pickup/drop off bay.

Features:

The Catholic vision of Nazareth community is reflected in the close connections between the school and parish liturgical celebrations.

The school curriculum underpins an approach to learning and teaching that focuses on the individual needs of students.

The school features newly refurbished facilities, including a new administration area and refurbished junior and senior toilets.

The school has an inviting, fully computerised library and computers and iPads available for all students.

All students participate in a broad range of programs: bike education, swimming, school camps and choir being examples. All programs extend from Prep to Year 6 and involve many multi-age activities.
