Welcome back to school to all our families. There are already many celebrations to look forward to, as well as new schools opening their doors.

In 2018 Catholic Education Week will be celebrated from Sunday 11 March to Sunday 18 March. The theme for Catholic Education Week 2018 is Open New Horizons for Spreading Joy, the theme of the Australian Church’s 2018 Year of Youth.

Events during the week will include: Mass for Schools in St Patrick's Cathedral on Friday 16 March followed by a Concert in the Treasury Gardens for primary students and the Young Speakers Colloquium for senior secondary students. The Visual Arts Exhibition will be held at the Catholic Leadership CentreTuesday 13 March to Saturday 17 March (presentations Sunday 18 March).

Time to Shine will also return this year and will be staged at the State Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne on 28 July 2018 with two shows at 2pm and 7.30pm.

Time to Shine 2018 is a musical celebration to showcase the extraordinary talents of youth – featuring singers, dancers and musicians from Catholic secondary schools across the Archdiocese of Melbourne. Tickets will be on sale at the end of March 2018.

Four new Catholic schools have opened this year: Lisieux Catholic Primary School, Torquay North, Oscar Romero Primary School, Craigieburn West; Our Lady of the Way, Wallan East; and St Mary Mackillop Primary School, Bannockburn.
