Premier Daniel Andrews visited St Paul’s School, Coburg, to announce a $47 million capital investment in increasing school capacity and upgrading school facilities.
Touring St Paul’s and meeting children and teachers, the Premier remarked on the importance and excellent teaching standards of Catholic schools.
St Paul’s School is just one beneficiary of this investment by the Victorian Government, with 15 other schools benefitting from Cowes to Wangaratta.
This investment is the first phase of the Non-Government Schools Capital Fund, a $400 million commitment by the Andrews Labor Government to meeting the challenge of increasing school enrolments.
It is also a recognition of the contribution Catholic schools make to their community and the critical role Catholic schools have in meeting Victoria’s future education demands.
Approximately 115,000 new student enrolments are expected over the next five years and these funds will help increase access to education all across Victoria. It will also help support parents to choose a school that meets their children’s needs.
