The community at Holy Cross Catholic Primary School, Mickleham, has been using sport to support cultural inclusion.

The school’s story was featured as part of the Australian Government’s Sporting Schools initiative, which brings schools and sports together to help students get active. The school recently received a grant to purchase new sport equipment and increase opportunities for all students to participate.

‘Sport is such a big part of Australian culture’, said the school’s Physical Education teacher Sarah Cardamone. ‘Introducing my students to a range of different sports supports them to better understand and participate in their local community.’
