Description:

Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School is committed to providing an innovative education that will inspire and empower all to achieve beyond expectations. We will work together strategically to support, challenge and extend all members of our learning communities by embedding a shared pedagogical understanding and practice that meets students’ individual needs.

At Holy Trinity, we believe in a student centered pedagogy where students’ individuality, interests, passions and spirituality shape our teaching. Teaching is driven by the issues and big questions that matter to children.

Teaching is intentional and purposeful to provide a rich and relevant curriculum. Evidence-based teaching strategies are employed to create engaging experiences that promote deep learning.

We aim to engage student’s strengths to promote and develop the dispositions of creativity, resilience, persistence, adaptability, empathy, collaboration, reflection in a rich and relevant curriculum.

School Vision:
Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School is a successful community of learners inspired by the faith in Jesus’ teachings.

We are empowered learners who are inclusive and adaptable, collectively shape the world around us for
the good of all.

“Whenever two or more are gathered together in my name, there am I in their midst” Matthew 18:20

Holy Trinity aims to promote a living Catholic identity. As our school does not have a church onsite, it is important to recognise that WE ARE THE CHURCH and by the example and teaching of Jesus, this can be put into action.

Features:

The Holy Trinity 'Touchstones' are the learning dispositions that we believe every child should aspire to live in action. The children will unpack the touchstones as they are embedded into our school culture:
- Have Integrity
- Be Persistent
- Be Collaborative
- Be Optimistic
- Be Creative
- Be Reflective

Positive behaviour for learning (PBL)

At Holy Trinity, our school has implemented the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework.

PBL is a whole-school framework that promotes positive behaviour across the school and helps schools develop safe and supportive learning environments. Explicity teaching the schools expected behaviours and acknowledging students who display these positive behaviours in a major component of the PBL framework.

As a community, the students, parents and staff have all helped to collectively determine the values that best suit Holy Trinity.

These values are:
Safe, Inclusive and Respectful

Content and language integrated learning (CLIL)
At Holy Trinity, the aim of the Italian specialist program is to create an environment where children can acquire language skills through relevant and enjoyable activities to:
- communicate in the Italian language;
- connect the language to everyday situations;
- broaden vocabulary related to topics of interest, and;
- make connections with and understand the relationships between language, culture and learning.

Each week, the children are allocated an hour of Italian which is led by a specialist teacher. In these planned and focused sessions, the children will further their skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, to foster an appreciation of the Italian language and culture.

Targeted speech program
Our school is pleased to welcome Speech Pathology for Schools (SPS) to work collaboratively with our school to improve student outcomes by providing holistic school-based speech pathology services.

SPS be onsite at the school to work with students, plan with teachers, train staff, deliver social skills groups and develop programs to our schools specific needs.
