History:

The parish primary school, St Anne’s, was opened in 1968 in the beachside suburb of Seaford by the Faithful Companions of Jesus. The school has grown from one classroom for Years 2 and 3 students to a school from Prep to Year 6. Prior to the opening of St Joachim’s school in Carrum Downs the school had as many as 460 students. The school has undergone four major renovations, the last being in 2010 as part of the nation-wide Building the Education Revolution (BER).

Description:

St Anne’s School is one of two primary schools in the parish community of Seaford. A close relationship exists with St Joachim’s, our partner parish primary school. St Anne’s is situated on the same property as St Anne’s church and office. The school has a population of around 140 students and is located in a spacious garden setting. The classrooms are bright, large and well resourced. The playgrounds are extensive, featuring two well-maintained adventure playgrounds, a large grassed area, and netball and basketball courts.

Features:

St Anne’s is a community centred school where scripture guides our lives through the presence of God. We inspire curiosity through purposeful contemporary learning in a safe environment. We are aware of the ever-changing world, and strive to give our students the best possible access to skills that will assist them in the future. There is a strong emphasis on the core disciplines of numeracy and literacy, while developing students’ self-confidence and self-esteem through our student wellbeing program. Strong partnerships between school and home are at the heart of our community which are further developed through our participation in the Boon Wurrung Family-School Partnership cluster with neighbouring schools.
