History:

St Dominic’s Primary School, Broadmeadows, first opened in February 1959 when 200 children commenced their education under the care of two teachers. The Sisters of St Joseph originally donated the land on which the school and church are built and have had a great deal of influence in the school's development. Rapid population expansion in the 1960s forced St Dominic’s to grow to nearly 1000 students. St Dominic’s remained a large school catering for the many cultural groups who moved into the area. St Dominic’s is still a highly multicultural school but the school population has remained steady at around 220 children.
