History:

Christ Our Holy Redeemer Parish in Oakleigh East was formed in 1957 and the parish primary school was opened in the original church building, which was constructed in 1958. The school and the church shared the same building until 1961 when the lower school building was opened. The Brigidine Sisters came to the school in 1961 and remained until 1978. The school was extended in 1968 to include extra classrooms and a tuckshop. In 1976–77 a new hall was opened and in 1978–79 the library and staffroom were completed. Since the Sisters left, the school has been staffed by lay teachers.

The administration area was refurbished in 2000 along with the construction of a new library, an information technology area and a meeting room. In July 2004 the junior corridor was demolished and has been rebuilt to allow easier access. At the same time the three classrooms in the senior block were refurbished along with the construction of one new classroom and a storage area, which has incorporated the old office area. In 2005 the senior classes and corridor were painted, interior blinds replaced, air-conditioning installed into the new classroom and a multimedia sound system installed in the hall.

In 2006 the tennis courts were re-surfaced with a synthetic grass allowing this area to be used by the children. In 2007 a new toilet block was built on the oval and in 2008 stage 2 of the Masterplan will take place and two new classrooms will be built.
