History:

Marcellin College was established in 1950 by the Marist Brothers. Marcellin College derives its inspiration from the Catholic tradition, the Spirit of Marist Order, and sound educational theory and practice. The Marist spirit encompasses a sensitivity to the role of Mary in the Catholic tradition, which upholds the importance of the local church and stresses creating a family environment. The College motto, 'Virtute ad Altissima' (Through Striving Reach for the Highest), suggest that in the life of the College we are not content with just an adequate grasp of living, learning and developing skills. Rather we are aware that excellence lies in being fully alive and open to an ongoing Christian formation of boys, staff and the total school community through an integration of faith and life.

Description:

The school occupies 15 hectares. In addition to classrooms and the usual specialist facilities, we have a Physical Education Centre, updated Science Laboratories/science rooms, Technology area, computer laboratories and a College Chapel. Further development in the coming years is expected with more facilities for our Visual and Performing Arts Department.

Features:

The College offers a variety of out-of-class activities. These include Community Service, Retreats, Instrumental Music program, an Outdoor Education program, and a wide range of co-curricula activities which includes sport.
