18 October 2017Loreto alumna Aisling Utri

Recent graduate from Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak, Aisling Utri, (2016) has just signed with the Western Bulldogs for the 2018 AFLW season.

‘I've always wanted to play footy,’ Utri says in an exclusive interview with the Western Bulldogs. ‘Other sports are very independent, but being in a team atmosphere, I get really excited about that.’

Utri is an accomplished sportswoman, she currently holds a VIS scholarship for Hockey and is also a Hockeyroo hopeful. She has negotiated with the AFLW to maintain her training throughout the season. Aisling previously played football for Melbourne University's Youth Girls team and has coached the Loreto Toorak GSV AFL, GSV Hockey, GSV Soccer and Rowing teams.

‘We're over the moon. With her knowledge and training at an elite level previously, to transfer that over to AFL Womens is going to be really exciting,’ said Bulldogs' AFLW coach Paul Groves.

‘She's fast, and that's what we really need in our team. It's also the training standards and the expectations she sets for herself that we're really excited about.’
