27 November 2019

There were tears of happiness and sadness as students and teachers, past and present, gathered to celebrate a special anniversary and reunion at St Aloysius School, Caulfield.

Operating as a campus of St Anthony’s School, Glen Huntly, from the beginning of 2019, St Aloysius School has been serving the Catholic community of Caulfield for generations since first opening 100 years ago.

‘Everyone I have spoken to has a positive story about their time here, absolutely everyone, and it doesn’t matter how old they are’, said Deirdre Cosgrave, Head of Campus. Friends of the school shared stories while looking through photos and reports, and walking through the classrooms that have changed significantly over the years.

As much as it was a chance to say goodbye to the school that will close at the end of the year, it was also a way to reconnect with the people who had made the school a special place to learn. ‘Everyone knows each other here’, said Deirdre, ‘and even though St Aloysius has always been small, community has always been a big part of it’.
