On 27 October the new Mary Wing at Ave Maria College, Aberfeldie, was named winner of the Renovation / Modernisation – Over $2m category at the Official presentation of Association for Learning Environments Award with Marissa Cavalchini (Past Student – Architect at Hayball), Principal Elizabeth Hanney and Business Manager Allan ThompsonAssociation for Learning Environments Australasia Limited Awards 2016 for education design excellence.
 

Marissa Cavalchini, a member of the Class of 2001 at Ave Maria College, was at the helm of this project at (as an architect at Hayball) and attended an official presentation of the certificate at the College last Thursday. The innovative technologies building comprises an additional 16 new learning spaces across three levels.

The Learning Environments Awards program aims to raise the standard of educational planning and design, with a focus on creating great places for students to learn.

The jury of the Awards said the Mary Wing is ‘a great example of what can be achieved when educational leadership meets architectural vision’.
