Layla West from Mount St Joseph Girls’ College, Altona, is a Year 12 student on a mission to change the way people think about disability.

The Hobsons Bay City Council’s 2019 Young Citizen of the Year has been promoting today’s World Down Syndrome Day by inviting her fellow students to wear odd socks. Layla speaks about her recent award and her motivation to be a role model for young people in her community.
