Students at the Project Compassion launch at St Monica’s College, Epping, with representatives from Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne. This week marks the beginning of Lent as well as this year’s Project Compassion campaign.

Organised by Caritas Australia, Project Compassion demonstrates how the power of hope has transformed the lives of some of the most vulnerable. By putting community, love, compassion and faith into action, together we can help shape a better future for all because ‘lives change when we all give 100%’. The theme for Project Compassion 2019, Give Lent 100%, is based around giving 100% in the name of hope.

Archbishop Comensoli attended the 2019 Project Compassion launch at St Monica’s College, Epping, with representatives from Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne.

Schools, parishes and individuals are encouraged to take part in this year’s campaign. School-specific resources are available from the Project Compassion webpage for schools. Schools undertaking activities to promote compassion can contact Catholic Education Melbourne at publications@cem.edu.au to share their images and stories.
