Images of new schools: Holy Trinity and Iona College, alongside some snapshots from St Patricks.30 January 2019

The new school year has begun with over 150,000 students returning to or beginning their education in Catholic schools across Melbourne.

It’s a particularly exciting time for Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School, Sunbury, and Glowrey Catholic School, Wollert, as they open their doors for the first time. There’s still more growth with St Paul’s College, Kew, moving to a new campus in Balwyn, and building work will commence soon on Iona College, Charlemont, before Geelong’s newest Catholic secondary school opens in 2020.

A group of young teachers from Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne will soon return from Panama City, Panama, having attended World Youth Day. Their experiences of the event will be shared with their school communities to continue the Pope’s message of hope.

Growing Young in Christ is the theme of Catholic Education Week this year, scheduled from 10–17 March. Highlights of the week include the Visual Arts Exhibition, Mass of St Patrick for Schools and Young Speakers Colloquium.
