St Dominic’s School in Broadmeadows were delighted to host their local MP and former student, Frank McGuire, to launch their program Postcodes of Hope and to announce a $300,000 grant from the state government towards a new STEAM learning centre.
 

The school has made the mainstream media recently for its openness in welcoming families fleeing from conflict in Syria and Iraq, with both ABC News and Channel 9 telling the stories of some of the families who have arrived to call St Dominic’s home.

‘We continue this week to welcome more families – and our door will remain open to others,’ said principal Gayle Connor, ‘I only wish I could do more for them, but believe here at St Dominic's we welcome them with love, and continue to journey with them as they settle and find a new place they can call home.
