National science week 2019 poster.12 August 2019

Destination Moon: more missions, more science is the school theme for National Science Week in 2019.

Fifty years after those first footsteps on the Moon, students across Australia are being challenged to use science, technology, engineering and mathematics to help forge our future paths in the areas of space operations, space science, Earth observations, positioning systems and communications.

Congratulations to three of Melbourne’s Catholic schools who received National Science Week school grants to fund a range of activities during Science Week. Students at Catholic Regional College, Caroline Springs, will be searching the night sky for stars and planets. St Brendan’s School, Somerville, will combine design and language to create a Rube Goldberg machine in Japanese. A travelling group of student experts from St Joseph’s College, Ferntree Gully, will visit nearby primary schools to demonstrate the different aspects of STEM.

Resources for schools and additional information are available on the National Science Week website.
