Book Week was twice as good for St Paul’s School, Coburg, who had two authors visit the school to celebrate the week with them.
Students from Prep to Year 2 enjoyed a visit from author and illustrator Sally Rippin. With over 70 books published, Sally shared with the students some insights into how she develops her characters. The students were also treated to Sally reading from her latest book in the Polly and Buster series.
Splitting his time between being a TV producer and a writer, Adrian Beck was a lively presenter for the Year 3 to 6 students. He shared a behind-the-scenes account of the writing process before reading from his Kick it to Nick series.
‘Our students get so much out of having authors visit the school’, said Principal Maria Mercuri. ‘It not only reinforces how we value a love of reading, but also inspires them to have a love of writing.’
