Images of students with his Excellency Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay on a visit to Antonine College, Cedar Campus last week.Foundation to Year 6 students formed a guard of honour when His Excellency Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay accompanied the relics of Saint Maroun on a visit to Antonine College, Cedar Campus, last week.

The community gathered in the presence of a significant relic of Saint Maroun, holy monk, priest, hermit and patron of the Maronite Church, under the patronage of His Excellency Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay.

The next day on the feast of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop secondary students from Saint Joseph Campus had the chance to view and venerate these relics for the very first time when they attended Mass concelebrated by Bishop Tarabay and Father Alain Fares, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lebanon Church, Thornbury.

It was very fitting that we celebrated this occasion on the feast of Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first saint, who like the Maronites overcame many obstacles to follow her dream and never lost hope.

This was another historical event for Antonine College which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2018. This unique opportunity reminds us of our connection to our Maronite story and help to strengthen our values, spirituality and faith in our beloved land Australia.
