After weeks of remote learning, students will begin returning to their classrooms from tomorrow.

Primary students in Prep, Years 1 and 2, secondary students in Years 11 and 12 and all specialist schools start back tomorrow, with students in all other year levels returning on Tuesday 9 June. Today is a student-free day as teachers and school staff prepare for the return of students.

‘Parents and families have been incredibly supportive of flexible and remote learning over the past several weeks, but I know many will join me in looking forward to the return to classroom-based teaching’, said Jim Miles, Executive Director, Catholic Education Melbourne. ‘It will be an exciting time as students reunite with their friends and peers, teachers recommence classroom learning, and our schools return to being vibrant and flourishing Catholic learning communities.’

Catholic schools will operate within the recommended safety guidelines, including around hygiene practices and restricted access to school sites. It is important that we all play our part in minimising the risk of a COVID-19 outbreak causing further disruption to learning as schools move towards full attendance.

The staff from St Mary of the Cross MacKillop Catholic Parish Primary School, Epping North, have been doing their bit to get the school ready for their students. If you have photos or footage of the return to school, please contact publications@cem.edu.au.
