Year 3 and 4 students from St Gabriel’s School, Reservoir, have created self-portraits to express how they feel about harmony.

As part of a Harmony Day project, the students created a talking ebook that communicates what a world of harmony means to them. In Visual Arts, they first sketched a half-portrait of themselves, focusing on the main features of the face, and assembled bits of coloured paper to create a collage background. They then photographed their collage portrait in Digital Technology and used the ChatterKid iPad app to record their voices discussing what a world of harmony looks like.

The collaboration has been published on the Australian Government’s Harmony Week website.
