Learning from home could present some challenges for practical classes, but schools are finding creative ways to overcome them.

The Certificate II VET Baking class at Catholic Regional College, Sydenham, continues despite students not being in the school’s bakery. Students have received a box of ingredients and follow along from their own kitchens.

The college’s baker, Peter, has set up a commercial kitchen in his garage with cameras so he can continue to teach all of his classes without interruption. Not only are students able to continue learning, but their families get to share the delicious cakes and pastries being produced.
