Student artwork banner‘Lest we forget’ has more meaning this year for the community at St Peter’s School, Clayton.

The students made a banner for the hospital workers who walk past the school to and from the train station. As well as honouring our Anzacs, it is a tribute to the staff at the nearby Monash Hospital. The idea came from Frahana at the school’s Camp Australia service.

‘This is a banner of gratitude to say lest we forget – not only the Anzacs but also our local frontline workers from Monash Hospital, and for all their own personal sacrifices in keeping us safe’, said the school’s art teacher, Caroline Egan.

Monash Hospital is a big presence in the school community, and the students watch the helicopters landing on the hospital’s roof from their playground. There are also a number of parents of students at the school who work at the hospital.
