Illustrated hearts.21 April 2020

Year 12 students at St Aloysius College, North Melbourne, came together last week as a community in prayer.

The students discussed how prayer has the potential to nourish the spiritual growth of all members of the school community. They also looked at how prayer can take a number of different forms including art. Art as prayer looks at the idea that a simple drawing can say so much when created to reach out to God and others.

The students were then asked to draw a heart. When drawing this heart, they said a prayer for all those in their community. They were comforted in the knowledge that, while they may have been drawing individual hearts at that moment, they drew as a community and filled the moment with an abundance of warmth and prayerful wishes for each other. We are all in this together.
