Zac is using technology to share his love of history from his temporary classroom at home.

Anzac Day holds special importance for all Australians and young historian Zac has drawn on his family’s stories to create an important record. The Year 1 student from St Patrick’s School, Mentone, has conducted research with family members to produce two books. One book was about his great-grandfather in World War II and the other about his great-great-uncle in World War I.

Zac has shared films of him reading the books with his classmates. He hopes that by doing this, he’ll encourage other students to research and talk with their families about war and the symbolism of Anzac Day.

Zac is planning to mark Anzac Day by lighting a candle in his driveway at dawn. His achievements were profiled on the front page of Tuesday’s Herald Sun.
