Duties and Responsibilities:
- actively implement the School Vision, School Improvement Plan and the Annual Action Plan
- lead and drive the implementation of the 'Horizons of Hope' and the English and EAL 'Victorian Curriculum'
- lead professional learning across the school in English and EAL
- model and team teach in the classrooms to support the implementation of a differentiated and inclusive English curriculum with a strong focus on EAL strategies in the mainstream classrooms
- have a deep understand of the English Victorian Curriculum and the EAL Continuum
- be an exemplary professional that is able to lead and represent our school at all levels
- be an active member of the Leadership and Curriculum teams
- implement assessment for, of and as learning strategies
- use diverse assessment strategies and tools to drive planning and support improved student engagement and learning across all curriculum areas
- build teacher capacity through modelling, coaching, mentoring and giving professional feedback
- work collaboratively and sharing your expertise
- understand the importance of sharing data to drive continuous improvement
- demonstrate the use of current evidence-based research to inform practice.
The position is an ongoing position. Applicants must be accredited to teach in a Catholic school and have VIT registration (including Criminal Record Check) and include the contact details of 3 referees. You must be able to provide evidence of studies undertaken to develop expertise in English and EAL.
